ICU

Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a specialised department within a hospital designed to provide intensive care and monitoring for patients who are critically ill or require close medical attention due to severe medical conditions or surgical procedures.

We provide:

Specialised Critical Care: METS ICU services are dedicated to providing specialised care for patients with critical medical conditions. These may include patients recovering from major surgeries, individuals with life-threatening illnesses, or those who have suffered severe injuries.

Highly Skilled Staff: ICU units are staffed by a team of highly trained and experienced healthcare professionals, including intensivists (doctors specialised in critical care medicine), nurses, respiratory therapists, and support staff. Their expertise ensures round-the-clock monitoring and immediate response to changes in a patient’s condition.

Advanced Monitoring: ICU patients receive continuous monitoring of vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and oxygen levels. Advanced equipment is used to track and record these parameters, allowing for real-time assessment of a patient’s health status.

Life-Saving Interventions: In the ICU, critical care interventions are readily available. This includes mechanical ventilation for patients with respiratory distress, advanced cardiac monitoring and support, intravenous medications, and procedures such as dialysis when needed.

Multidisciplinary Care: ICU care often involves a multidisciplinary team of specialists who collaborate to provide comprehensive treatment. This includes surgeons, pulmonologists, cardiologists, infectious disease specialists, and others, depending on the patient’s condition.

Family Support: Our ICU units provide spaces for families to visit and receive updates on their loved one’s condition. Healthcare providers in the ICU also offer emotional support and information to help families cope during challenging times.

Rehabilitation and Transition: Once a patient’s condition stabilises, METS ICU services may include a plan for rehabilitation and transition to a lower level of care. This can involve physical therapy, occupational therapy, and ongoing medical management as needed.
